WHOSE CHAIR IS PLAIN JANE TALKING ABOUT?

The IOTG is always worth a read which is more than can be said for the TT at the moment.
.
This week, whilst looking at Plain Jane (Jane Wenham-Jones) a snippet caught my eye. Having heaped praise on those at TDC, presumably Councillors, who work extremely hard and who are honest and upstanding of both major parties she then followed with this:
.
".....it does not include those who swapped parties in order to be re-elected or who then popped up chairing committees and displaying faulty memories while having a rather tenuous grasp of the rules of English punctuation."
.
I cannot for the life of me work out who on earth she is talking about. Do readers have any idea who this might be?

Yes very well said Jane!he gives himself away on all the blogs by revealing his yokel roots and lack of grasp of the english language even when he tries to be anonymous!
Don't know how Jane is so intimately versant with his lack of verbal skills maybe it was the paperwork associated with her battles to prevent houses becoming flats in Broadstairs?
Thought you had to have basic literacy skills to become a fireman but obviously not!

Bertie, I suggest Me. I foolishly had a go at said woman re her picture and cats litter trays. But as she proposed Cllr Hayton for the last district elections, I suppose she is less than pleased with me . Never Mind, I have been alluded to by uglier people( but very few)

A good riposte, 'Our Ken' on your 21.07 comment!
I am guilty of spelling and punctuation errors too 21:10, so I tend not to be judgemental but forgive me Ken, do you mean rear orifice?

A sad attempt to make light of the W-J womans attack upon peoples spelling.

I seem to recall Jane did, in fact, sign Cllr. Ewen Cameron's nomination papers. I don't think she signed Bill Hayton's as well but perhaps I'm wrong on that one.

I alwayd admired well educated firemen.

Far better than the uneducated ones that get their fingers burnt.

Do you think that Steve Ladyman MP should resign from his position as a local president of the Royal British Legion (page 35 Kent On Sunday- view online) after voting against the rights of the Gurkhas ?

Its a bit like a vicar voting against the choir!

With respect Bertie

this is such an important subject
to those as us that were in the services - yet not one blog is running it as a lead story - THE GURKHAS DESERVE BETTER!

Please support us Sir!

You have a point,09:33 but as someone pointed out on another item, we recruit Ghurkas with the consent of the Nepal Govt. Returning soldiers and their pensions have been a source of income to a poor country and if Nepal loses income and its finest men to settle in the UK, will the Nepalese Govt continue to allow recruitment? It is a complex issue, but I tend to take the view that if Ghurkas wish to settle in the UK after serving this country, then no barriers should be put in their way.
As for Steve Ladyman's position of local president of the RBL, that is a matter for the RBL to consider.

Bertie

I agree that Steve Ladyman's position as Margate president of the RBL is a matter for the RBL to consider.

However, those of us that live in Ramsgate, where he is our MP also have a right to ask questions about his connection with the RBL.

Before reading the Kent On Sunday today I was not aware that he was Margate's president.

I have just looked at the MPs web site and can confirm that he is in fact the Margate RBL president.

I just can't understand how he can vote the way he did and sill remain president!

Bertie are you a RBL member?

Ah,but! If we did not have the Gurkha's, our Militia would be really understrength?

I do hope that the BA is studying how they will be dealing with recruitment of the Gurkha's in this country as Nepal is going to have a serious internal struggle in the next two years?

But then again I ain't a turncoat politician local or otherwise.

I think that 'A' grade that you feel is so special to share with us should be a capital.

Any fireman is pretty cool in my view.

Must have had dumbing down of "o" levels even way back then if KG got an A! Maybe he is getting it confused with the old CSES as Jane says he does have a poor memory - maybe prone to elaborate?
On another subject Bertie the lorries that were parking by the beach in Ramsgate are now parking on the road on the edge of the Gateway site - no facilities there either? Drove by today and the road is 2 lorries thick down the length of it - by the new Ken Wills' building!Seems quite harmless otherwise, shame they are so transient otherwise squatting there would possibly have prevented the scheme in the short term!

09:59 and 10.35, thanks. I think that Joanna Lumley and the campaign are doing just fine at the moment. No, I am not an RBL member but perhaps I shoud rectify that. Would suggest letters to Steve Ladyman expressing concern about his position and that as RBL Chairman he should perhaps be more positive.

15.47, thanks for the info that even more lorries are up at the Loop at Manston. No toilets , lots of litter and no HGV hardstanding being drained through interceptors. I will contact CGP and you might wish to draw this to attention of TDC as these vehicles and drivers are sitting on our aquifer with no facilities to deal with their pollution or diesel leakages etc at the moment.
