STAGE FRIGHT BY 'MAUWICE' AND 'WOGER'?

It has come to my attention that TV Choice ( Christine Tongue) has been trying for some time to interview Our Leader and his minder 'Woger' on camera for the documentary that has been worked on for some months in regard to all aspects of the proposed China Gateway at Manston.
It would appear that the 'Deadly Duo' are happy to burst in on other people's PR opportunities in Margate and scatter 'petitions' around the shop so to speak, but are extraordinarily shy about appearing on film for TV Choice! They appear to be happy to have a cosy chat (over a cup of tea, naturally) as long as it's not recorded on film. What are they worried about?
They seemed quite happy to put themselves about in Pegwell Bay Hotel last week, promoting jobs, jobs and more jobs for Thanet to come from China Gateway, whilst trying to rip off poor CGP for a ransom strip and 5 acres at Manston Business Park for a cool £2.25 million and at the same time expressing 'doubts' about Phases 2 and 3 with their partners KCC in EKO LLP.
I have great unease when I see my two Councils (KCC and TDC) playing at property speculation on Manston Business Park whilst spouting hypocritical nonsense about how they are really concerned about regeneration and job creation in Thanet. Aren't these the guys who have allowed the 'key regeneration site' in Margate to become effectively 'land-banked' by Waterbridge and Mr Godden?
They are clearly too ashamed or embarrassed to go on record for TV Choice who might actually ask some pertinent questions of them. Instead, I suppose, we can look forward to another 'Leader's View' in IOTG this week (yawn ), after last week's respite.

They are the leaders, Our leaders, and it is their right not to explain themselves!

Why should we question why yhey are spending OUR money on buying land, to sell to a developer, to make a profit for? US?

As this pair are about as trustworthy as a disgruntled python, is it any wonder that they won't answer questions. But simply carry on running Thanet for us! Not on our behalf, but for us as demi gods!

We elected the stupid ******s, so I suppose we only have ourselves to blame.

Memo to everyone! If we voted this lot in because the other lot were bad.....! I will let you imagine the rest!

Basically we the good people of Thanet are Damned either way!!!!!

The deadly duo would have no control over what the outcome on film is due to editing but spouting nonsense to a semi-comatose audience they can feel in charge. Mind you, Sandy has gone on tv happliy enough where you have no control and can end up looking foolish as many have discovered.

I want to know why they feel obliged to do CGP's PR work for the company. Surely a company of that size can afford a decent PR budget to sell the scheme to us? I think they may have done their case no good having those two upfront as the public is merely going to wonder what Sandy and Roger are getting out of it. Oh, I forgot, the scheme will 'fill our coffers' that is, EKO LLP's coffers not the hard-pressed taxpayers unless some well-paid jobs come on stream.

I DO BELIVE THERE DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN TO HEAR THE PUBLIC VIEWS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK THEM
THE OTHER POINT IF YOU ARE THE CONCERNED THAT THE TWO GENTLEMEN IN QUESTION ARE DOING A BAD JOB THEN WHEN THE NEXT ELECTION IS CALL IN 2011 PLEASE PUT YOUR NAMES IN THE RING I DO FEEL YOU FORGET THERE ARE 56 COUNCILLORS THAT MAKE UP T D C
THE OTHER POINT YOU MAKE COMMENTS ABOUT WESTWOOD CROSS LABOUR WHERE IN POWER THEN THEY WHERE THE ONES
THAT MADE THAT MESS UP IN THAT AREA BUT THEY ALSO TOLD US IT WAS THE BEST THING FOR THANET NOW THE LEADER AND HIS TEAM ARE TRYING TO PUT THIS RIGHT REMEMBER THE LABOUR LOT HAD EIGHT YEARS IN POWER THIS LOT HAVE ONLY BEEN IN 5YEARS AND IN TAKES TIME TO PUT THINGS RIGHT

For the moment it is felt by many that staying out of the public eye is best. Also Sandy says stupid things when left alone with the press.

However we bloggers are growing in popularity and so staying out of the public eye might not be possible much longer.

No need to shout 13.14; (the use of caps is regarded as shouting unless stressing a point.

Of course you are absolutely right about doors always being open and that is very creditable. In 5 years we have seen the sad decline of Margate and how long do you blame the previous administration? I remember Blairites still blaming Conservative Govts of 10 years ago and Wilson in the 60s talking of '13 Years of Tory mis-rule'. The present administration has fully supported Westwood Cross and even 'Woger' has been recently heard to say how wonderful it is to keep sprnding in Thanet, without realising that big chains do not re-circulate money in the local economy; small local businesses do!

The reasoning behind Westwood Cross under a Labour administration at TDC was to create jobs in Thanet so that those looking for employment didn't have to travel to Canterbury and beyond.

Additionally, it was hoped to keep spending power here rather than at other retail areas. Labour had plans drawn up to create a decent road structure although the original plan hoped that people would use public transport to get there. When the Tories took over in 2003 they immediately scrapped the highways scheme leading to the chaos we have every day on the roads. Any road improvements would have been down to KCC but the developers might have had to contribute as is not uncommon with a development.

Anonymous, SHOUTING at the rest of us on 6 November at 13:14, reminds us that there are 56 councillors. That is true, but only the Tories have an effective voice as they are in the majority on the Council. They do not, however, represent Thanet's electorate - not a single councillor, of any political persuasion, obtained the votes of a majority of the registered electorate in their wards in the 2007 elections due to the low turnout. Why there was such voter apathy is a matter for speculation, but the lack of democracy in the island that it has led to is not.

The lack of turnout was a sign of voter satisfaction. They only turn out in numbers when they want to register a protest. I suspect that is why Bill and Ben are so smug - because they know they are popular.

I suspect that there will be a massive turnout in the next general election, to make sure Brown and his cronies are consigned to history. There can never have been such an incompetent shower in the Treasury, and Brown was the main man for a decade.

Lack of turnout is a sign of voter satisfaction Anonymous? I suppose that you could say that cattle in an orderly line to the slaughterhouse door is a sign of bovine satisfaction.

Only a vote in favour of a proposition or situation shows evidence of satisfaction in it.
