EUROTUNNEL ON THE OFFENSIVE?

It is now the 2nd day that Cllr Ezekiel has let pass, without resigning.
Euroferries have 12 days left to have Bonanza Express depart to Boulogne from Ramsgate.

I do not have sophisticated 'counter thingees' to record the passing days but will just have to enter them manually. If you want to know where the Bonanza is, please click on this link that I have pinched from Michael at www.thanetonline.blogspot.com :

In the meantime, I find it interesting that Eurotunnel paid for a whole page advert in yesterday's Thanet Times promoting short journey, cheap price and 'goodies' if you book in March and April. Eurotunnel are perhaps taking Euroferries a little more seriously than Glenn Campbell of the BBC?

Bertie....

Not too sure that it is anything to do with the proposed EF, I recieved yesterday an offer of a car + four passengers on Norfolk Line for £19 one way, as an ex SPF customer.

LD have also made me offers as an ex SpeedFerries customer. Times are tough, although LD have started well using the SPF database, I can see by looking at Boulogne port, there isn't much passing through presently, Easter may well be the test.

ET have also offered great day return pricing over the last couple of weeks.

Thanks, Isabelle. It is a tough market place out there and I am not sure that Euroferries will be able to 'mix it' with other operators.

Thanks for that Isabelle. Nothing on euroferries.co.uk yet, despite the fact they state details will be up week commencing 16 Mar; wasn't that last Monday?

If we wait for the weedy tories to oust Ezekiel i think it will be like watching paint dry Bertie, all they seem to think is that it is a labour coup, not decent tories wanting some integrity back into local politics!
I have blogged the Conservative councillor on the blog and because i am asking him to confirm things i read on the labour website he thinks i am one of the nasties, in fact i am trying to find out if he has really been offered an allowance for chairing a committee that may not meet - General purposes committee. I also wanted to know if it is true that all 19 tories will get allowances and he thinks i should find out from Freedom of information. It appears to me they have mushroomed out the positions and paid themselves all allowances instead of sharing the cabinet allowances amongst the other councillors who will be assisting them in their duties. I call myself conservative, but think it needs a caveat of only voting for a conservative MP i cant possibly support the carry on i see in the Thanet conservatives?

Lloyd’s list website says

“EUROFERRIES has announced that its new service between Ramsgate and Boulogne is set to start on March 31, writes Sandra Speares.

The new operation will be in partnership with Fred. Olsen, which has time chartered the 96 m Incat ferry Bonanza Express to Euroferries. The vessel will make four crossings daily between Ramsgate and Boulogne.”

I would be surprised if Lloyd’s list would be wrong about something like this.

I think they are just reporting on what Euroferries has told them, Michael. I still haven't been able to make a booking for Easter!

So Euroferries are still trying to make us believe they are starting a service in just over 250 hrs time!! Do they think we are thick? Interesting we can track where Cartwright (sorry Bonanaza)Express is! Reckon EF must have watched 'Hustle', and tried to see if they could go one better. What carrot will be dangled on EF's website next week to keep Thanet guessing? Well it gives us all a good laugh!

Well - would you believe it - the latest on the EF website says ticket info etc will appear shortly and minor engineering works are taking place at the Ports! Any guesses on what next week's fantasy statement will say?!
