EXCELLENT GRAFFITI?

One of my team told me about seeing this piece of artistic grafiiti on a garage door in Ramsgate and has at last produced the photograph!
I suspect it is more a political statement than an artistic effort but seeing the offerings in M&S ( the only TC we are likely to have, unless you believe in miracles), that highly paid Director of a Gallery that hasn't existed for the past 7 years should send her curator (for a gallery that doesn't exist) along to the garage owner and grab this piece of art for posterity.
I, of course, heartily support the message here and it's nice to know that at least one urban Thanetonian appreciates the need to preserve our high quality and versatile farmland. My only thought about improving this excellent example of contemporary street art, is that the artist could have brought in an element about drinking water.
Victoria should look out for more basic examples of uncultured graffiti at Northdown House in December. Mrs Biggles reports that her Bridge partner has heard that TDC intends to close and board up Northdown House by December this year despite the fact that it covers its costs and is an excellent Community Resource. Are 'Mowice', 'Woger' and Cllr Wise about to 'waterbridge' it (see ECR's Thanisaurus) despite the fact that its 'asset disposal' status has been put back until next financial year for the legal position to be ascertained?

I don't think Tracey Emin lives in Ramsgate but it does remind me of some of her work.

On the Northdown House issue, it's a disgrace if what you say is true. The Thanet Times listed what each of the items earmarked for sale cost the council each year and what revenue each brought. Northdown House would appear to make a healthy profit for TDC. What is the logic behind this sale?

Does Mr Day-veloper support the China Gateway?

I accept your ironic remarks 10.55 but as you may know he's on the Planning Committee (Vice-chair) so can't express a view, yet.

None of the councillors can say anything yet as it may (should) go to full council.

Mr Day-veloper hasn't expressed any views on anything at all while he's been a councillor. That is part of the problem. He seems to be squirreling around quietly doing not doing much.

BTW Did you know he used to run a restaurant with his sister in St Margaret's Street/Castle Street, Canterbury - until that went bust some years back?

Couple of thoughts here, in business when you sell of your major assets for day to day running costs, it’s called bankruptcy.

With the China Gateway application, the application so huge over a thousand pages now and this figure is rising all the time, there is a difference between discussing aspects of it with those who have researched various aspects of it, in order to better understand what is involved and expressing an opinion at to if it should be passed or not.

I find that I am asking relevant questions to the EA, TDC officers and councillors, but I am just not getting the answers quickly enough to arrive at a reasoned and full objection in time.

Would it be fair to say that Mr DVper is the hardest working cllr in the area and that he is always there for the people in his ward?

Dolly Daydream gets paid to be a cllr, so why is he allowed to do nothing, while others like Iris J & Roger L work hard?

10.55, I haven't a clue! It is obvious to many that certain members of TDC are certainly fully behind this scheme otherwise why all the visits; acceptance of sponsorship for the 'Big Weekend' in Palm Bay; suggestions that EKSD will cough up tax payers money to solve the problem of CGP having to find the money to provide mains sewerage; and the 'speculative' purchase in 2007 by CGP of farmland for Phases 2 & 3? Look back at Woger's visits, photo opportunities and note he is a a 'director' of EKSD a Company (that spends tax payers money) that appears more secretive than The Vatican in terms of open information available to the public.

I'm sure that all of us that have had our buildings ruined with graffiti share your view Bertie!

Graffiti is still criminal damage, and I'm sad to see you saying it is excellent!

Crime is crime, whichever form it takes! You get all flustered about things going on in Thanet, and then endorse one of the most annoying crimes in thanet!

Shame on you!

You are right only if the property is not owned by the graffiti artist. But if they own the property it is legal graffiti. However, it is pulls the area down and that is not nice for neighbours

It does look as if the 'graffiti' is on aboard that has been screwed to the doors and I suspect is a statement by the owner.

Mindless graffiti by taggers is unacceptable but I have reservations about some very clever, witty and artistic graffiti, but I accept the points you make 00.21 and 10.54.

It doesn't pull the area down or upset the neighbours as much as a contaminated water supply and 2,000lorries a day will.
