How glad I am to see Cllr Simon Moores posting on Thanetlife at 12.04 today. I hope this will see the regular return of Thanetlife as a forum for Thanet discussion and a wide range of topics that was its trademark. Having been suspended since February, it is still a 'members only' blogspot but 'a minimis incipe'.
More importantly, Bertie can soon look forward to a rest from this blogging business.

With all the grief this council is causing, and the public's disgust at some of their behaviour and decisions, it is hardly any wonder that the true blue, Torys are always right, 'Thanetlife' should emerge blinking back into the day light!
It went from being an interesting and thought provoking blog, to being a one sided and biased Tory mouthpiece as soon as it's writer became a councillor.
Let us welcome it back with caution!
Thanks for the kind words but as I've told the other popular bloggers, this was only an entry to tidy up the abrupt ending from February and encourage local people to "Blog" their memories of people and events in their lives. Nothing more sinister than that I'm afraid Bertie, so I regret to say that you are stuck with the ''torch of truth' for now!
Oh damn, Simon! Mrs Biggles will not be happy with that news, as I ran into the kitchen earlier today shouting 'days to do are few!.
I think your comment is on the harsh side 17.56. I have no objection to view on Thanet with a blue tint. No one complains about Eastcliff Matters in the same way.
I hope you will do another charity stunt this Christmas Simon.
You should be able to announce it on Bertie's site ?
I will stump up my usual £12.50.
With inflation as it is, that £12.50 should be about £59.20 come Christmas...
I am retiring from Thanet echo blogging today
pretty much brought home the bacon now
But a small increase in line with govt inflationary claims would be in order.
Bye now.
No more Rick! Thank goodness for that!
Oo-er.
As readers will know, I am always loathe to edit but 23.39 and 23.54, I regret to say , I find your postings have exceeded the bounds of acceptable comment and are potentially libellous. There was a malicious campaign on a site some time ago that was unacceptable and I do not want Strife to be used by Thanetonians to repeat it.
Nice of you to remember me, Bertie!

I wonder why we have to take issue with people who are Doctors!
We have so few NHS doctors available at present, so why should people be having a go at Doctor Moores.
Well, he's not a medical doctor. Like Dr. Ladyman M.P., his is a doctorate so different thing altogether.
I would challenge your version of blogging history - your post of 16.32 - Bertie, but it IS history, and little useful purpose is served by trying to resurrect it, in my view.
For the record, the 22.46 posting is NOT from OneVoiceInThanet
Thanks, One Voice? I was suspicious of 22.46 and your post confirms my suspicions. Please accept my apologies if my comment at 16.32 was a little harsh but I concur fully with your point about it being history and leaving things that way. So chaps and chappesses, lets leave it that way please.
OneVoiceInThanet indeed. Still around but not an active blogger. You are running an excellent, challenging and well-informed blog here Bertie, which I hope you find the energy to maintain.
