ANOTHER WEE ROOM GETS CLOSED BY TDC

Readers will be familiar with TDC's desire to make life difficult for bladder stressed locals and visitors alike by closing our public toilets around the Isle. There is, however, another wee room in the Council Offices that has now been closed.
.
The wee room I am referring to is the one that used to be available to the electorate to have a private consultation with their Cllr to discuss sensitive matters. My TDC 'Mole' reports that this very small room has been emptied of basic furniture and closed.  Not surprisingly, this has caused some upset to hard-working Cllrs who now have to find some place in The Gateway/Library to have a private conversation with their ward electorate, presumably in public!
.
The surprising aspect, resulting from Strife's enquiries, is that it would appear that our Cllrs were not even consulted or informed about this matter. I find this strange.
.
Whilst some 'Ezekiel' Party members wouldn't know what a member of their electorate is,  let alone talk to them, ( if their inability to answer letters or e-mails is a guide), there are some hard-working Cllrs, (Ind, Lab & proper Con) who do and have made use of this private consultation room. Perhaps it would be nice to see our elected representatives at least consulted on this matter?
.
I leave you with Edna's thoughts on the subject. She has some odd ideas at times..

"Mr Biggles, my mate Martha, who cleans in TDC, says they 'ave probibly cleared that small broom kubbard of a room art , soze they can bug it and 'erewag on cosy chats wen they let them Cllrs back in. She also says she don't think much of them new carpets; starting to 'ball up' orlready it seams".

So, not another loo gone but a room in the council offices after all.

I never knew councillors met the electorate in the building but, as most Tories don't bother with voters' surgeries anyway, perhaps the powers-that-be assumed it wouldn't be used.

I know Michael Jarvis for your ward has the occasional surgery at Holy Trinity, something like the third Monday of every other month when the moon is in orbit with Venus, (or something like that)but I haven't heard of any other members of the Tory party holding surgeries. Can anyone tell me I'm wrong and give me details?

Wouldnt expect the leader to go for a quality twist Edna would you now? doubt if he knows an Axminster if it was staring him in the face?

09:53, you know quite well that The Leader's expertise is in carpets and flooring and I am quite sure he knows the difference.

I don't think the officers allow the councillors to choose anything, the chief executive thinks they are " an irrelevance that stops us doing our job"

Another wee room closed like the cafe at the port, it seems Mr Grumpy at TDC would prefer the cafe to be empty than transfer the licence to the widow who was already running it. Good customer service by TDC yet again.

if he was such an expert then wouldnt he have chosen another colour other than pink which shows all the dirt for the main walkways thro to the council chambers?! when you don't want to hoover much you choose brown mottles or blue - surely Edna if asked as the cleaner would have been able to tell the Chief exec/leader etc. or whoever was spending our £s.!
Suppose no-one bothers to think about the practicalities - otherwise they wouldnt have closed the loos!
i see now there is a consultation asking us the electorate what TDC should cut back on to reduce the deficit - a cunning political ploy so that when they get the flack they will say "we did a consultation and no-one wanted to keep it" think our council is becoming like the labour party under Tony Blair "very manupulative" what do you think Bertie? if i had a choice i would name 2 or 3 highly paid officers to be given redundancy and reduction of all the regalia, get rid of the ridicule that is called the "Mayor of Margate" the pot of councillors to choose who are from Margate wards is very thin. not to mention all the expensive cars and drivers!have one elected mayor and get rid of TDC - now thats an idea!?

Yes we have the same problem here in Gravesend. Our local Tories have sold three WC's since taking power in 2007.

15.53, I think the widow has had enough of TDC; the rent for the lease had been raised and sometimes people just give up when all they have is hassle and aggro piled on top of them.
19.49, have to agree with you. Why on earth do we need 56 Cllrs is another thought that sometimes crosses my mind; less and better quality would be better.

So TDC keep on raising the rent at the cafe to drive the licensor away , is this why the Euroferries deal collapsed, the next thing will be trans europa will be going bankrupt as the lorry drivers will stop using the port as there are no facilities there.
